Applications must be received prior to the deadline for the upcoming term. If all available internship positions are filled prior to deadline, 1430 ESPN Radio will close the window for applications for that term. Late applications will be considered for future terms. Interns are selected on the basis of professional potential. 1430 ESPN Radio is an equal opportunity employer. Interns are considered trainees and not employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1973. A staff member or other professional will supervise interns on a day-to-day basis. A department head will complete an evaluation or other necessary information for the student to receive credit for the internship and/or grades.
Objective
Offers serious undergraduates an opportunity to learn the day-to-day process and workings of a radio station. It will provide students with "hands on" experience in learning how to promote a radio station and keep the listener coming back for more! This internship will also demonstrate how to use technical equipment to produce commercials, promos and other materials for broadcast. This internship is to help in the production/marketing/sales departments of 1430 ESPN Radio.
